LISA PATTERSON Fascinated with sound architecture at an early age, Lisa was known as the kid with the tape recorder and microphone. Now part of the new breed of multi-tasking sound professionals, Lisa has built a reputation over the past 14 years as a talented producer, arranger and creative engineer, recording artists from a variety of genres including Jazz & Blues; Pop; World Roots; Aboriginal; Singer/Songwriter; Choral; Contemporary and Classical. After freelancing as a live sound technician, independent producer and touring artist across Canada for 9 years Lisa settled in Toronto in 1995, opening her own home studio, imaginit music, in 1998. She apprenticed with studio veteran and Metalworks mastering engineer Nick Blagona (Green Day, Oliver Jones, Cat Stevens, The Police) and was soon employed as his assistant on freelance projects. Lisa was among 60 applicants chosen out of 1200 to study Recorded Music Production and Engineering at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. During this 3-year program she was nominated as Producer of the Year and requested by faculty to coach other young women in studio leadership. With formal music training, and 2 decades of experience as a performing & recording artist, Lisa brings a rare musicality and performer empathy to the studio experience.
