LISA PATTERSON

Fascinated with sound architecture at an early age, Lisa was known as the kid with the tape recorder and microphone. Now part of the new breed of multi-tasking professional creators who produce and engineer simultaneously, Lisa has built a reputation as a passionate and talented innovator in the recording studio environment.
Letting her years of experience as a recording artist and formal musical training influence her relationship to technology, Lisa prioritizes creating a supportive and relaxed atmosphere for artists to do their best work.
One of 60 out of 1200 applicants invited to study Recorded Music Production and Engineering at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Lisa was nominated as Producer of the Year and was often requested by faculty to coach other young women in studio leadership.
After 10 years of freelancing as a live sound technician and independent producer, Lisa settled in Toronto in 1995, opening her own home studio in 1998. She apprenticed with studio veteran and Metalworks mastering engineer Nick Blagona (Cat Stevens; Oliver Jones; Deep Purple) and was soon employed as his assistant.
Specialising in acoustic roots music, Lisa has recorded artists from many genres, including Jazz, Aboriginal, Pop Singer/Songwriter, Choral, Contemporary, Classical and World.
